GreenSpot Real Estate received the 2015 “Green Dealmaker” award given by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Colorado chapter on Dec. 1, 2015. The award singles out GreenSpot as the state’s most sustainable real estate company, and a jury panel of nine judges selected GreenSpot from three finalists.
Started in 2010, GreenSpot Real Estate provides a menu of real estate transaction brokerage and developer services, with a specialty in certified, energy-efficient building. The company has since become an industry leader in realizing higher sale and appraisal valuations for this specialized category of real estate – high-performance homes and buildings.
IN|CARNATION – In 2012, GreenSpot bought an old 2.5-acre carnation farm for a developer client, which is currently building a 26-unit ENERGY STAR community on the brownfield property. GreenSpot is serving as the green-building consultant and ENERGY STAR certifier, as well as handling finished property sales. The community is solar-powered and has a community garden.
CLARKSON GREEN – In 2013, GreenSpot closed on a half acre (two sites) in the historic San Rafael neighborhood of inner-city Denver (Five Points). GreenSpot is the project green-building consultant, certifying the single- and multi-family homes ENERGY STAR and LEED for Homes, and GreenSpot Real Estate is selling the properties. In addition to green certification, all homes are solar-powered.
CHERRY CREEK DEVELOPMENT – This year, GreenSpot found a 25,000-square-foot lot in Denver’s tony Cherry Creek neighborhood for a client. Though the project is currently in design, the developer plans to build 12 condominiums on the lot, incorporating solar and green certification. GreenSpot will handle sales of these high-performance properties.
